It’s always fun to welcome back previous guests – and this time they brought friends! Dale & Dina were here in 2008 and this year returned with 6 of their friends. We had a parking lot full of beautiful motorcycles, and a house full of fun and laughter.

Here are some pictures of these “fabulous” guests!

WLFI-TV visit! http://whitehouseonpark.com/blog/2012/05/14/wlfi-tv-visit/ http://whitehouseonpark.com/blog/2012/05/14/wlfi-tv-visit/#comments Tue, 15 May 2012 01:09:41 +0000 Administrator http://whitehouseonpark.com/blog/?p=351 Today a reporter and videographer from the nearby television station stopped by to shoot video of the house and interview us for “The Most Interesting Homes” in the Greater Lafayette area. Reporter Liz Nichols and videographer Jamie Long spent about an hour and a half, and got some great video. We even showed them the “secret” pencil marks from 1897 by the the coal delivery man!! The segment will air on Wednesday, and be on the station website after that.

Here’s the link to the story.

We are honored, and thanks to everyone who voted for us on the WLFI.com website! The White House on Park Avenue is a beautiful home and we appreciate the care over the years by the Kannal family and descendants, and the previous owners Tom and Beth Ryan.

Happy Mothers’ Day, everyone!

We received the news recently that a local television station was running a promotion “The Most Interesting Homes” in the Greater Lafayette area. Viewers could go online and vote for their favorites. Our home was nominated, and made the top five! Monday a reporter will be coming to shoot video and interview Sally and me – woo hoo!!

The annual Little 500 go-kart race recently ran at nearby Saint Joseph’s College – many alumni and friends came to campus for a cool but otherwise sunny day. Exciting go-karting was the order of the day for both the alunni and student race.

College and high school graduations are just around the corner. We’re already full for Saint Joseph’s College graduation on May 6, but be sure to make your reservation for out-to-town guests for Rensselaer Central High School graduation!

Looking ahead, we anticipate a full house for Memorial Day weekend, with travelers and those attending the Indianapolis 500. Check out our availability calendar to make your reservation requests.

Finally, since July 4th falls on Wednesday this year we’ll be offering a holiday special for mid-week overnight stays that week, Monday through Thursday: $99 for any room with continental breakfast! (based on availability).
