Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sunday, February 17th, 2013

We had great guests the last few days, celebrating Valentine’s Day both on Thursday and Saturday. One couple was Bob & Anita. Every year around Valentine’s Day Anita & Bob visit an Indiana bed and breakfast, and we enjoyed meeting them this weekend!!

Snow at night at The White House on Park Avenue Bed and Breakfast

Snow at night

February tends to be a slow time around the bed and breakfast, and many of our guests are here during the week on business. We are blessed to have a regular guest who stays between 2-5 nights per week. He is a great conversationalist and we enjoy seeing him every week at check-in.

If you find yourself in Rensselaer on business, consider booking a room at The White House on Park Avenue Bed and Breakfast. We have business rates for our corporate guests and can discuss long-term needs as well.

Here’s what’s going on around town the next few weeks…

Saturday, Feb 9: Saint Joseph’s College hosts Science Olympiad. Core Building. 8:30a – 3:15p No admission fee. Public welcome!

Thurs, Feb 14: VALENTINE’S DAY! Local merchants and dining facilities are ready to help you with your special needs and gift selections!

Saturday, Feb 16: Jasper County Historical Museum is open: 10a – 1p. 479 N. Van Rensselaer St.

Thursday, February 28th. National Chili Day. Rensselaer Care Center, serving time: 10:45a-2p. The community is invited to come out to taste and vote “the best chili in town”! A board of judges will make the final selection. The cost to enjoy a bowl of chili is a canned good/non-perishable food item or minimum $1 donations which will be donated to our local food pantry.
