Ready for the 4th!

The house has been decorated for our patriotic holidays: before Memorial Day we put up the pleated window dressings and a new “Old Glory”. We welcome travelers to the bed-and-breakfast – a couple of rooms are left for the upcoming holiday.

Some of the area fireworks displays include the Wolcott Summer Festival (at dusk, approx. 10 p.m. EDST) and Lafayette “Stars and Stripes” held in downtown.

Granddaughter Annie

We’ve been blessed with two beautiful grand-babies, and both have – or will soon be – visiting us at The White House on Park Avenue. Jeffery turned 1 on April 11 and Annie is 1 on June 22.

We’ve also entertained Sally’s brother, sister-in-law and nieces recently, along with our overnight guests.

The month of June is finishing in a flurry and we’ve gotten quite a few bookings for June, July and August in the past two days! Weddings, reunions, and fall football weekends at Saint Joseph’s College are all attracting overnight visitors to Rensselaer and The White House on Park Avenue. Make your trip plans now!!

Welcome, French cyclists!

Summer is definitely here, as temps have increased and all the flowers have bloomed. Recently we hosted a pair of cyclists on an East-to-West, cross-country cycling tour of the U.S. They took a side trip via Amtrak to Chicago, and we enjoyed hearing about their journey. Here’s a picture before they left Tuesday morning.

Rensselaer Alumni Weekend.

RHS Alumni: don’t forget the Alumni weekend June 12-13! The White House on Park Avenue is half-full, so don’t delay if you’re looking for unique overnight accommodations!
