Labor Day bikers

The trees are starting to shed leaves, and we’re anticipating the slow turning of colors on some of the grand tress at The White House on Park Avenue. Over Labor Day we enjoyed our guests the Knoxs and Listons. It was fun to hear the bikes roar to life in the morning as they started on their journey. Soon, we’ll welcome back bikers of another type – the Coles bicycling from Pontiac, Illinois.

Sandhill Crane watching will start soon – mid-October to mid-December we’re told. The Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area is about a half-hour drive, and The White House on Park is a great home base for your bird-watching trip. Here’s the Department of Natural Resources website for the area:

We welcome Saint Joseph’s College alumni back to campus September 25-26 for Homecoming. We’ve been booked for nearly a year, and have a wait list of 9!! For those alumni looking ahead, book for 2010 soon!

Fred’s daughter, husband and granddaughter will be visiting in October from Colorado, so look for family pictures then!
