Education Department Reception

Tuesday we hosted the Saint Joseph’s College Education Department’s annual teacher-student reception at The White House on Park Avenue. SJC education students and teachers from area schools who have mentored the student-teachers enjoyed conversation, food and beverages. It’s a great chance to recognize the work the mentor teachers do in the community.

The weather has been great – in the 70s the past couple of days. Spring arrives soon!!

Spring Ahead!

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

It’s been unseasonably warm at The White House – and the shrubs are starting to respond with tiny buds. We’ve had some bookings for Saint Joseph’s College graduation weekend, and are almost full for both Friday and Saturday nights. Check out our Reservations page if you’re making plans to visit the area, either for graduations, family reunions, or other get-aways.

Tonight is the return of Daylight Savings Time, so I’ll have to remember to set the guest room clocks ahead before we turn in. Just a reminder to guests: Rensselaer is on Central time year-round, and “springs forward, falls back” with the rest of the nation.
