It's true that best friends make the best marriage partners. On June 7, 2008 Fred and Sally were married on the Tom Sawyer riverboat in the shadow of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. It was a joyous time of celebration with family and friends.

Fred was a full-time college professor for 39 years. His degrees are from Purdue University and he grew up in Pulaski County, just to the east of Rensselaer. He has worked extensively in radio, most notably as a play-by-play announcer for various Indiana radio stations over the past 40 years. His hobbies include Hollywood history, canoeing and kayaking, camping, and baseball. He has traveled extensively leading work trips with Habitat for Humanity including Tanzania, Chile, Guatemala, Macedonia, Nicaragua and Romania.

Sally is a native of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and was a television news producer in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. She received her degrees from Oklahoma State University and has taught for 25 years at Northern Oklahoma College and Saint Joseph's College. On Sundays Sally can be found at the Brook United Methodist Church, where she is the church organist. Sally likes cooking, camping, canoeing, travel and spending time with her family.
